Hey there everyone! Hope you are all having a wonderful summer so far.

Here at SFFA we’ve been hard at work on our Lemmy project. It’s starting to grow and we are growing with it.

For about half a year now, we’ve been talking about the SFFA incorporating as a 501© entity, with the ability to fund initiatives, giveaways, book shares and more. We also have servers we need to keep running. To that end, we are opening up to donations to help meet these goals.

You don’t have to donate; we’re not begging for money. We’re just letting you know the opportunity exists and you’re welcome to check out our GoFundMe. Once we’ve met our GoFundMe goal we will be moving towards using OpenCollective permanently for donation handling. We will announce when this occurs.

We are in this for the long haul, and we will keep plodding away at it until these dreams become a reality. Thanks for sharing these dreams with us.

I just can’t donate. Credit card doesn’t work (it works normally on other vendors), Google pay puts out a mistake and Venmo isn’t available in EU. I tried calling my bank but gave up after being on hold for 30 minutes…

We appreciate you trying so hard. Don’t feel bad. Once we reach a specific goal we are moving to OpenCollective and they may be more forgiving about donating from other countries. Not that you HAVE to, jut saying it might work there.
